Minnesota-native and previously featured on our list of 100 underrated artists in 2022, Parachutes just gave us all something to enjoy the summer weather to with the release of his debut project, 'Wicker Chairs.' It's been inspiring to watch this artist take huge strides in the past year, most recently headlining an EP release show, and planning to hit the road later this summer with artist Libianca.
To put it simply, this music feels like driving with the windows down on a summer night with your best friends. From the first song, 'Upstairs,' I got such a sense of nostalgia from the energetic lead guitar and washed vocals. The songs in general carry this raw, youthful feel. It's perfectly simple in how it's produced and emotionally complex in how it's written. I think my favorite track from the first listen through is the title track, 'Wicker Chairs.' Parachutes taps into a whole different side of his artistry in those 4.5 minutes, genuinely making me feel things.
Moral of the story, I could listen to this guy all day. I'm super excited to see where the rest of the year takes him, and if you haven't tapped in yet, check it out in our playlist below!
