I always love when artists write songs that are genuine to them. When they write about personal stories, or things that actually happened in their life. I believe that's what truly makes a great songwriter. Well, Mike Crigs fits that category perfectly. Not too long ago, this Massachusetts-native artist packed up his life into a storage unit and lived across the U.S. in Airbnbs. Now, we're blessed to receive this song from him that details his experience in such a nostalgic, hopeful way.
'Storage Unit' has this certain catchiness to it that will have you singing along all weekend. Mike's soothing voice over the uptempo production just makes for such an infectious sound that's hard not to smile to. I love the way he arranges this record and tells the honest, reflective story of how he left home to travel and gain new experiences. As a listener, I can even hear those experiences come through in his growth as an artist and vocalist.
