If you're just becoming aware of this Nashville-based group like I was a few days ago, congratulations. You just found your new favorite band. Debuting in 2022 and only now releasing their third single in total, it's insane how clear the trajectory is for this talented bunch.
You know that feeling you had as a teenager, driving around with your friends past curfew, windows down and all of your dreams laid out right in front of you? Listening to this song pretty much accomplishes the same thing, with an added layer of nostalgia this time around. 'Lookaround' features some of the most infectious melodies I've heard all year, and paired with its creamy textures settled over grungy undertones, it's got all the pieces to be an absolute hit. There's a certain sadness that comes along with nostalgia, missing your youth and wondering if you're making your younger self proud. Lyrics like "19 and change, but somehow my wires are all rearranged," depict such a vulnerable picture of growing up and longing for simpler days.
