Greek has easily been one of my best finds of the year. Living in North Carolina for a bit, I was given the extreme privilige of being in close proximity to a lot of talented artists. One group that I came became very fond of is Weston Estate, and by way of them, I found Michael Davie, known professionally as Greek. Greek is a 20 year old musican who makes some of the most incredible music I have ever heard. His production is S-Tier nad I couldn't name a person that I've ever heard that sounds like him. He released a project in October of this year titled "EXTC" and it's got one of my favorite songs of the year on it, "best."
"best." is an exhilarating track that speaks of a genuine interest in another and how greek would give them his best and be the best for said person. "He won't love you like I do... And my best, it goes to you" he sings. This emotion filled track fits right in with the rest of the album, all of the tracks showing vulnerability and passion from the artist. The guitar on this track is heavenly and all of these elements come together to help you really empathize with what greek sings. He did a fantastic job on this track and anyone who is into any kind of R&B should definitely give this a chance.
greek is a phenomal artist who I truly hope that we see more of in this next year. I'd love nothing more than to see him and the rest of his circle burst onto the mainstream in this year. The quality of his music is already so high, all he needs is to be heard by the right ears and he may genuinely be one of the most talked about artists out right now. Regardless if that happens or not, we know that greek will 100% continue to give us phenomal music. Be sure to give his latest project a listen, it will not disappoint.
