Our favorite thing ever is an underrated, S-Tier artist, and if you like those, Emanuel Brown is the artist for you to listen to. He dropped what I personally feel like is one of the crazier projects of the last year (I'm a sucker for Neo-soul music) and he hasn't gotten the attention he deserves.
From Frank Ocean & Ari-Lenox, to D'Angelo & Erykah Badu, the neo-soul genre has been littered with several very notable and talented artists, and Emanuel Brown might just be the next one. His project "V2" encapsulates every facet of the neo-soul genre that you'd expect to hear out of a project labeled as such, in such a beautiful and concise way, it's hard to not be excited about this one. From near flawless vocals, to incredible production, this project has no lows. The into track "Call On Me" is the standout, but there is not much of a drop-off (if any at all) between that one and the next 4 songs. The track has 3 features (2 from the same vocalist) and their contributions were also fantastic. This all came together to wrap up a truly incredible project by Brown.
I think that many genres have unspoken "gatekeepers" that are in charge of giving the okay to the next artist to come up, I don't know exactly who they'd be for Neo-soul, but whoever they are, they need to be quickly introduced to Emanuel Brown. This is an incredible project and you are truly cheating yourself if you don't give it a listen. Tap in with Emanuel Brown before he blows up!
