DavidTheTragic is a name that I've been hearing everywhere I look. Whether its a JID co-sign, an appearance on a Kenny Mason album, or his own project, he just seems to continue to show his face. After hearing his performance on "DIP!" by Kenny Mason, I had to check out the rest of his discography. He dropped an album in August of this year, so I listened to that first and it was one of the best surprises of the year. I genuinely like the entire project, there are so many standouts, but my favorite was absolutely Out of Time.
Out of Time is an extremely fun track. The beat has all the elements of a really enjoyable track, and the vocal performance is even crazier. "I been runnin' in circles, in circles, in circles, I'm losing my mind." he sings on the. I think that listeners could really appreciate the vocal effect on his voice, mixed with his intricate flows and melody. The track is about 2 and a half minutes long and it just gets progressively better as it goes on. You can hear that David was definitely having fun making this one.
With all of his star-studded appearances, co-signs, and genuinely great music, I feel like there's no way David stays in the underground this coming year. Check out his discography and I'm sure you'll find several pleasant surprises of your own, and maybe even a new favorite artist.
